El título de la obra —Mezquite— hace referencia a una especie de planta nativa del norte de México, caracterizada por su dureza extrema y su tolerancia a la sequía. En la imagen, esta figura vegetal es sustituida por un cuerpo que emerge del terreno árido, invertido y sin rostro. La figura humana se integra al paisaje como una extensión del mismo, proponiendo una lectura sobre arraigo, resistencia y pertenencia desde una experiencia corporal y anónima.

The title of the work—Mezquite—refers to a plant species native to northern Mexico, characterized by its extreme hardness and tolerance to drought. In the image, this vegetal figure is replaced by a body that emerges from the arid ground, inverted and faceless. The human figure merges with the landscape as an extension of it, proposing a reading of rootedness, resilience, and belonging from a bodily and anonymous experience.
