Sobre la obra:
La serie fue realizada en la isla de Pantelleria (Italia). Como parte del trabajo de campo, lo primero que hice fue subir al punto más alto de la isla para dimensionar el cuerpo en relación con el paisaje. Este gesto se convirtió en el punto de partida de la serie, que fui desarrollando en distintos lugares del territorio a lo largo de un mes.
El título de la obra hace referencia a la forma en que los isleños nombran —de manera simplificada— diversos puntos de su geografía, incorporando la palabra “grande” para referirse a determinados lugares dentro de su territorio. Esto me llevó a reflexionar sobre cómo el hecho de vivir encapsulados en un espacio insular hace que la noción de escala forme parte, de manera inconsciente, de su experiencia cotidiana.

About:
The series was produced on the island of Pantelleria (Italy). As part of the fieldwork, the first action I took was to climb to the highest point of the island in order to measure the body in relation to the landscape. This gesture became the starting point of the series, which I continued to develop in different locations across the territory over the course of a month.
The title of the work refers to the way in which islanders name— in a simplified manner— various points of their geography, incorporating the word “grande” to refer to certain places within their territory. This led me to reflect on how living encapsulated within an insular space makes the notion of scale an unconscious part of their everyday experience.
